My favourites of the week! It has been very relaxed this week, which I guess could be considered a favourite in itself. I’ve done a lot of lounging around, doing not much of anything, with Netflix and my kindle as my best friends. Some of my picks of the week definitely reflect my laziness, and I don’t feel bad about it one bit! I feel like I deserve it a little after this semester at uni, it’s been a tough one, but my results have come through and now it’s time to celebrate (by having a shift at work, wooo)!
Onto the favs!
1. Going home.
This is a bittersweet favourite. Today I’m packing up my bare, little uni room to head home for the summer. On the one hand I can’t wait to get home, see the family, take the dogs out for walks, sit in an ACTUAL garden, celebrate birthdays, and generally enjoy my last free summer. But on the other hand… I’m gonna miss everyone I’ve lived with this year. I didn’t know any of them when I moved in but now they’re some of the best people I know and made my third year something special. All the feels. First world problems or what?

A series that I started this week and will finish this week (watching the last episode as I type this). It’s the first series I’ve started in quite a while that has me on the edge of my seat, gasping as thing unfold, and shouting at the screen when someone does something that you know will end badly. I admit, I have a soft spot of superhero films, so I was obvs gonna like this. But it’s so much more! It’s everything I love about superheroes, yet a lot darker, and just very believable. I guess it’s because they have time to develop the story in a series and show Daredevil become Daredevil. Rather than jump into the super action that has no flaws straight away.
3. Maybelline nail polish.
I forgot to take a photo of this when I was wearing it, oopsie. Anyway, it’s such a lovely colour. Everytime I wear it I feel like I should have an office job and wear a pencil skirt. It’s a deep plum colour, and two thin coats is perfect. This is the kinda colour that even when it chips a little you don’t really mind, because it still looks so good and you’ll just keep on wearing it.
4. Dior and I.
I keep raving about this to everyone. Some of you may have already read my review of it, which says everything I could possibly say about it. I think it’s a great documentary showing behind the scenes and really makes you appreciate the fashion industry even more.
I’m not the best sleeper. Many nights I find myself unable to get to sleep, waking every hour, or waking ridiculously early. So all things lavender are a favourite of mine lately. I’ve been using incense sticks, and got this candle as a present. Having the room fill up with the scent of lavender really does make me feel sleepy, which is working wonders because then I can get to bed earlier than I would otherwise.
6. The Fault in Our Stars.
I’ve finally jumped on the bandwagon with this. I watched the film last year and bawled like a baby the entire time, so I knew that I’d love the book too. And I did. I’m going to say the cheesy line; I laugh and I cried. There, I said it. But it’s true. It really makes you think about you own life and makes you want to appreciate everything that you have whilst you have it.
There you have it, my little list of favourites. I’ve quite enjoyed having my lazy week because it has given me time to realise my love of reading again. Instead of just reading for my degree. So, yay!
What are you favs this week?
